The London Flying Club kicked off its first event of 2026 with an enjoyable and well-attended evening, supported by Cirrus Aircraft, who kindly provided the food and drinks.
We were pleased to welcome the team from AeroSuperBatics — the world’s only professional formation wingwalking display team — who shared an interesting and down-to-earth insight into their world. Founded in 1984, the team operates a fleet of vintage Boeing Stearman biplanes, performing formation displays with wingwalkers positioned on top of the aircraft.
What came across clearly during the talk was the level of coordination and trust involved. From pre-flight planning through to the display itself, everything is carefully managed, with a strong focus on teamwork, discipline, and consistency. Hearing from Kirsten, Emma, David, and James gave a genuine sense of what’s involved behind the scenes.
It was a good evening all round, with a mix of members and guests, and plenty of conversation throughout.
